Marcus Rashford's brother has been arrested and will appear in a US court on domestic violence charges. Dane Rashford was arrested on October 20th in Miami Beach, Florida.
According to police records, he was released prior to a pre-trial hearing after appearing in court the following day with bail set at $1,500 (£1,224). According to the Telegraph, his charges were recorded on October 24 as assault, which was further defined as domestic violence.
Dane is a registered agent with the Football Association and works closely with his younger brother Marcus. Dane is also a director at DN May Sports Management, which represents the Manchester United striker.
Rashford is managed by his other brother, Dwayne Maynard, who, like his brother, is also a registered FA agent and was named on official FA documents for Rashford's last two deals with the Red Devils.
Dane was seen in official police arrest photos after being hospitalized. A Florida court also issued a pretrial "restraint order" prohibiting Dane from contacting the victim. Florida court documents also show that Dane's bail was paid by Chantel Maynard a week after his arrest.
After posting bail, he is no longer in jail, despite pleading not guilty. Dehn will have another hearing on Nov. 27. "The case is still active, but we have not been able to contact the victim at this time," Miami-Dade County Assistant Prosecutor Deci Vega-Mendez told the Telegraph.
We do not know if they are still in the United States or if they have already left the country. As far as I know, they were on vacation. Technically speaking, you cannot leave the country after the charges have been filed. If a person is given a bond when they leave, they are giving up that bond.
"An arraignment hearing is scheduled for November 27th; the case is still pending at this time." Rashford, Manchester United, and the Dane have not yet responded to inquiries about the circumstances. The report added that the Rashford family believed the matter needed to be resolved.
This isn't the first time Dan has been in the headlines. In January 2019, he and Tyler, the brother of Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold, were attacked and robbed by a group armed with sawn-off shotguns, machetes and baseball bats.
The brothers were punched in the head while having breakfast with friends and robbed of their £70,000 Range Rover, wallet and designer watch. The three attackers were each sent to prison.
