WHAT’S YOUR BODY REALLY SAYING WHEN YOU HAVE A HEADACHE?

Just because your body aches or you notice different sensations in different body parts, doesn’t mean it is just a physical trigger.

In my article, What Is Your Body Really Saying to You? I briefly touched on the foot pain I experienced after taking a walk. In that article, I addressed the metaphysical anatomic meaning and representation the foot symbolizes.

Over the past couple of weeks, I have been looking more into different ailments and what they could mean on a subconscious level. So let’s examine the head and what it means from a metaphysical aspect.

Your face is what you show to the world. It’s one thing that physically identifies you. Your face holds more than just the image you portray to the world. Your face holds emotions — the ones you show and the ones you mask or keep within.

Headaches may stem from invalidating the self, self-criticism, or fear. Makes you look at headaches differently, right? You may be wondering how this could actually manifest into a physical headache. So, let’s say you start a new project that is highly important to your department.

A couple of weeks go by and you take the preliminary research and present it to your supervisor and you get smacked with feedback you weren’t expecting to hear. You instantly get annoyed and feel like you can’t do anything right or you revisit your work and wonder why you get these types of assignments, and so on. You then feel like something is wrong with you for thinking those thoughts. And the result of that could be that you neglected to eat, overate, ate something you weren’t supposed to or missed drinking water.

Now, you have a headache. Hmm, what on Earth could have caused that? If you revisit what you remember of your day, you can see what could have subconsciously manifested that headache. Whether or not you spend five minutes sulking in those emotions or three weeks determines how your body continues to process the situation.

Every time you think about something, your body doesn’t know the difference between it actually happening or you just sitting there recalling that memory.

Migraine headaches are a little different. The probable cause of these types of headaches could be the dislike of being driven, resisting the flow of life and sexual fears. And guess one way you can possibly get rid of a migraine headache? MASTURBATION. So, you may not need that ibuprofen after all. If masturbation seems to be a bit overboard or if you’re not in the place to do so, you can try mint, chamomile, willow bark or fennel tea to soothe your headache.

Acne is another condition that people experience and frequently seek a remedy for. The cause of acne is not accepting the self or not liking the self. Once again, the face you present ultimately reflects the innermost thoughts and feelings you have about yourself. On a physical level, if there are things about yourself that you don’t like, then start small. It can be as simple as telling yourself that you love yourself, adding a little more exercise to your day, or drinking more water.

Remember that all good things take time. It can be a short period of time or longer, depending on the situation. The goal is to engulf yourself in so much self-love that you take your focus off how long things are taking to change. Things change the moment you tell yourself that they do. Even more so when you consistently show up for yourself. Here’s an affirmation that you can say to yourself if you’re experiencing acne that won’t seem to quit: I am a Divine expression of life. I love and accept myself where I am right now.

Allergies can be experienced all over the body and from many different things, but I’ll tie it into the face since those seem to be some of the most commonly expressed. Allergies can stem from denying your own power or having an allergic thought to a person or situation. Who are you allergic to? If you experience allergies, ask yourself about your views of the world you live in. Do you feel like you are safe? Are you at peace with yourself, your life, and your environment?

Amnesia is caused by fear. Running from life and the inability to stand up for oneself. If you’ve experienced amnesia or know someone who has, fear is one of the biggest motivators or causes of amnesia. When you fear something, sometimes it can be so extreme that your brain saves you by allowing you to forget the trauma. All memories can be retrieved and an affirmation for this is: Intelligence, courage, and self-worth are always present. It is safe to be alive.

The ears represent the capacity to hear. Dizziness or vertigo is caused by flighty, scared thinking and a refusal to look. Earaches stem from anger, not wanting to hear and too much turmoil. For parents who have children suffering from earaches, the cause could be arguing parents. Children hear whether we think they do or not.

The eyes represent the capacity to see the past, present, and future clearly. Dry eyes are angry eyes. They are also the result of refusing to see with love, and being spiteful.

— Astigmatism is caused by “I” trouble. Fear of really seeing the self. Affirm that you are now willing to see your OWN beauty and magnificence.

— Cataracts are caused by the inability to see ahead with joy. Dark future. Affirm that life is eternal and filled with joy.

Some helpful herbs for the eyes are bilberry and eyebright. Both of these are available in tea form.

Cold sores or fever blisters are often the culprits of festering angry words and fear of expressing them. Think of the last time you were upset with someone and didn’t express those words. It probably showed on your face. Some things I have found that work well for me when dealing with a cold sore are to address the situation that is causing my anger, but also aloe vera gel, lemon balm, and licorice root powder to soothe the irritation relatively quickly. If you readily have licorice root powder, you can make a paste and apply it to your lip or wherever the cold sore is. Lemon balm tinctures help to minimize cold sore outbreaks, also. Affirm to create peaceful environments because you love yourself. All is well.

Most, if not all ailments start in your mind first and the other parts of the body relay that message to your brain. If you aren’t consciously aware of your body and what it’s saying to you, it will hold that message in the body part(s) to get your attention. Your body wants to love you and keep you safe. This is why it’s best to get into a routine that works for you. Not to keep up with TikTok trends or to grab the attention from the world. Your body is ALWAYS speaking to you and ALWAYS knows what you need most. Are you listening?

My aim is to have people look at their health and well-being from a different perspective. Look into some of these concepts if you have or currently deal with these issues. But of course, for every subconscious action — there is a physical one that helps solidify its impact.
