Why does it appear that unbelievers are well off to do in this world than believers if God in the giver of all riches?.
There are so many reasons this appears so, although it is not entirely true, because wealth is not just a measure of earthly possessions. True wealth ensures earthly security as well as eternal security. There is no other person that can offer both expect the Lord Jesus Christ.
As for thriving in this world, an unbeliever doesn’t necessarily need God but the believer in God and child of the Kingdom of Light does. How?
Ezek.28.4 - With your wisdom and your understanding You have gained riches for yourself, And gathered gold and silver into your treasuries;Ezek.28.5 - By your great wisdom in trade you have increased your riches, And your heart is lifted up because of your riches),"
By wisdom riches can be attained. From the beginning of the creation of the Heavens and Earth, God established principles and Laws that governs the earth, that by merely applying it in wisdom and with understanding, riches can be given to the individual, who ever it may be.
Gen.8.22 - While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
Well then why has believers left it all to be applied by the heathen? I think they should do the same things and get all the wealth as well?
Actually there are so many billionaires who are believers and I am gradually becoming one. The Lord is the one who blesses and adds no sorrows.
Let’s consider the story of the Wheat and Tares. Matthew 13:24 -30. Its explanation is in the verses 37-40.
Matt.13.37 - He answered, He Who sows the good seed is the Son of Man.Matt.13.38 - The field is the world, and the good seed means the children of the kingdom; the darnel is the children of the evil one,
Matt.13.39 - And the enemy who sowed it is the devil. The harvest is the close and consummation of the age, and the reapers are angels.
From the above scripture- the field is the world.
The seeds are humans.
The striking thing I want you all to notice is that both seeds are on the same field. So both the good and evil seeds are in the world. All the nutrients of the field are for both good and bad seeds. But do you know who the ruler of the world is?
2 Corinthians 4:4 says there’s a god of this world who influence happenings. God if the world not the Earth please note. There are so many things the children of this world are willing to do to get wealth that the Children of Light wouldn’t dare do because it’s against the commands of the Lord Jesus Christ.
It’s clear that the children of God are disadvantaged in this world. But praise be to the Lord Jesus who defeated the enemy and gave us authority over him. Our advantage is in the finished works of Christ. Let us not blindly go through this world thinking it will just naturally favor us. Because it wouldn’t although all things in this world is subject to you.
