In 2020, Ramadan first won the seat by defeating the incumbent NPP MP, Yaw Buaben Asamoah, with a margin of 63,436 to 49,255 votes. Although Ramadan’s vote count was slightly lower this year, he managed to hold on to his seat, making him a key figure in Adentan's political landscape.
This victory is also historic because it marks the NDC's third attempt at securing the Adentan Constituency, after earlier unsuccessful bids in 2016.
