WHY CRISTIANO RONALDO COULD HAVE THRIVED AT PSG: PATRICE EVRA

Patrice Evra, former French footballer and close friend of Cristiano Ronaldo, recently revealed some intriguing details about the Portuguese superstar's potential transfer moves in the past. According to Evra, Ronaldo had shown serious interest in joining Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) before he ultimately made his move to Juventus in 2018. Evra mentioned that there had been discussions around several major clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal, and Chelsea, but Ronaldo had always been firm in his stance on some of them.

Evra elaborated on how Ronaldo, despite being linked with top clubs across Europe, was especially attracted to PSG's ambitious project at one point. He pointed out that the star forward was highly interested in what PSG could offer, a club with strong financial backing and a growing reputation in European football. However, Ronaldo, in his typical manner, had certain preferences. For example, he had made it clear he would "never go to Arsenal," a sentiment Evra found significant. While some critics may have doubted whether Ronaldo could adapt to PSG's culture, Evra was confident that the player, known for his dedication and professionalism, would have made the necessary adjustments had he chosen to join the French club.

Evra also took a moment to highlight Ronaldo’s adaptability by referencing his current stint in Saudi Arabia. Despite facing initial skepticism over his move to Al Nassr, Ronaldo’s continued success and influence in the Saudi Pro League have demonstrated his ability to thrive in new environments. As Evra put it, “He is a Saudi!” This comment underscores Ronaldo's remarkable ability to integrate into different football cultures, proving once again that his determination and drive make him capable of succeeding anywhere.

Cristiano Ronaldo chose Juventus over PSG in 2018 due to the club's prestigious history, competitive Serie A, and the opportunity to lead a team with a strong foundation. Juventus offered a fresh challenge, while PSG, despite its ambitions, lacked the same storied legacy and competitive edge at the time.
