Kotoko coach Prosper Ogum ascribed his team's lack of enthusiasm during their 2-1 victory over Dreams FC to the great level of effort they put out in their earlier 1-0 triumph over fierce rivals Hearts of Oak.
Following the game, which took place immediately after the Kumasi super clash, Ogum gave his opinions in a post-game interview.
Two goals in the 40th and 43rd minutes gave Kotoko a decisive 2-0 advantage. They had trouble in the second half, though, and many blamed their struggles on exhaustion.
Ogum admitted to the observation, but he explained that the energy decline against Dreams FC was not as big as it seemed.
He added that it was anticipated that the effort put forth in the Hearts of Oak game would have an impact.
"You expect energy levels to decline when you play a huge game like Hearts of Oak since they put in a lot of effort that day, but it was not that significant to me."
