The Krontihene of Akyem Asoum, Nana Boadi Amponim Abodade III, has voiced his full support for former President John Mahama, hailing him as Ghana’s “Good Samaritan” who is poised to rescue the nation from its ongoing struggles. In an interview with GHOne, Nana Abodade III lamented the current state of the country, attributing its challenges to corrupt leadership and poor governance. According to him, the country is in a state of devastation, with the people suffering as a result of mismanagement and corruption by those in power. He expressed his gratitude to God, believing that Mahama is the right leader to restore Ghana to its former glory.
Drawing from a Biblical reference in Luke 10:29, Nana Abodade III likened Ghana’s plight to the story of a person who was left wounded and robbed, with the nation being stripped of its treasures and left to suffer. He emphasized that under the current administration, the country's resources have been stolen, and the people have been left to bear the brunt of this mismanagement. However, he sees hope in the form of Mahama, whom he believes is the “Good Samaritan” who will step in to heal the wounds of the nation and restore what has been taken. Nana Abodade III’s comments reflect a deep frustration with the present leadership and a belief that Mahama is the savior who can bring change.
The Akyem Asoum Krontihene also stressed that Mahama’s leadership will not only heal the wounds but also recover the stolen wealth, ultimately leading to a brighter and more prosperous future for Ghana. His support for Mahama is rooted in the belief that the former president has the ability and the vision to undo the damage caused by the current administration. Nana Abodade III’s remarks are a call for a change in leadership, as he believes that Mahama's return to power will restore the country's dignity, wealth, and stability. This support reflects a broader sentiment among certain sections of the population who feel that the current government has failed to meet the needs and expectations of the people.
