The widely loved Interim management committee (IMC) chairman Nana Apinkra Acquah has left heartwarming season greetings for the fans of Kumasi Asante Kotoko sporting club, as the new year has arrived. This is a bit of what he left for the sympathizers of the Porcupine warriors, the Kum Apem Club.
The man who now in a way is like a board chair took the opportunity to thank the fans for their unwavering support to the club. As they have been with them through it all, the good times and the down times too. And assured the lovely followers of the club that they would do their best to keep the Krobea legacy, as they keep the flame blazing and making it a point to make everyone feel happy for the progress they would do for the club.
Remember that this is his second season in charge of the club through the guidance of our Father Otumfuo, and just be happy, because the man has made some good progress with what did in the first season as compared to the current one. And also the youth team has improved, this one looks lively than ones that have been started in the previous years.
I left home at dawn to help my stepmom set up for work. On my way back home to prepare for school, I saw my dad. He was on his way to a wake. It was normal for me to meet him there. This time, and for the very first time ever, I didn’t draw his attention upon seeing him. I just walked past him, and he did the same, not noticing me.
After school, we were at home when his colleagues from work brought his shoes, watch, and, I think, his belt. He had been admitted to the Tema General Hospital. It was the very last time I set eyes on him alive. On 18th March, he died. All people said about my dad was that he was a good man. Right then and there, I told myself I would try to earn such an appraisal. I don’t know how well I’m doing, but I keep trying.
