Mohamed Salah has firmly stated that winning the Premier League title is more important than personal recognition, despite his impressive individual statistics this season. Currently leading the Premier League with 17 goals and 13 assists, Salah has been in exceptional form for Liverpool. However, he made it clear that the team’s success is his primary objective. As the Reds approach a key fixture against Manchester United, where a victory could further solidify their grip on the league, Salah emphasized that personal awards, like the Ballon d'Or, are secondary to achieving collective glory. While acknowledging the importance of individual contributions, Salah reiterated that his focus remains on helping Liverpool win trophies, particularly the Premier League. He also mentioned his admiration for players like Vinícius Júnior, whom he voted for in the FIFA Best Player award, and noted that he is proud of his current form but doesn’t take it for granted, highlighting the challenge of maintaining such consistency as a winger.

In addition to discussing his current form, Salah reflected on his career at Liverpool, where he has consistently delivered over 20 goals per season since joining the club. The Egyptian international expressed pride in his achievements, especially considering the difficulty of maintaining such high numbers as a winger. He mentioned that while some might now see his prolific performances as routine, he believes that his efforts will be truly appreciated in the future. Salah also pointed out that despite achieving remarkable stats, such as his debut season with 44 goals and 14 assists, his ultimate goal remains winning trophies. He emphasized that even if he were to have slightly fewer goals this season, the priority is still to lift silverware with his team. Salah’s humble approach to his individual success shows his commitment to Liverpool’s collective goals, as he strives to contribute to the team’s success in the Premier League and beyond.

Furthermore, Salah opened up about his relationships with teammates, particularly his admiration for the movement and energy of Darwin Nunez. Salah noted that Nunez has brought a unique spark to the attack, with his constant runs and tireless work on the field. He also spoke fondly of his former and current attacking partners, including Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane, acknowledging their contributions to his success at Liverpool. Reflecting on difficult moments in his career, Salah singled out the Champions League final loss to Real Madrid, where he was forced off due to injury, as one of the toughest experiences. Despite the challenges, Salah has thoroughly enjoyed his journey at Liverpool, embracing both the triumphs and the setbacks. He expressed gratitude for every moment at the club, understanding that both the good and bad times offer valuable lessons. With the new managerial leadership under Arne Slot, Salah is hopeful for continued success and is determined to improve his game even further as he continues to set new records and strive for more trophies with Liverpool.
