One of the fundamental social right of every youth growing up is that of entering into a relationship. And this is probably one of the most important decision that the average youth worldwide takes with some questions of; who should I get into a relationship with, how long should I stay in the relationship before marriage among many other questions. In today's article we are going to look at some stages of relationship before it gets to marriage.
There are apparently two stages you have to pass through before marriage; 1. Dating, 2. Courtship.
1. Dating; from the word date is when basically two or more people set aside a particular date to talk or know each other, in the environment of relationship, dating refers to the process you become friends with person and any other friendship you develop with the person until you propose to the person. There is no time limit to the dating process, you can date anybody for as long us you want to and also you have to understand that there is nothing wrong with dating two or more person because during the dating process there no strings attached to it, it just you trying to study someone before you tell the person to be your boyfriend or girlfriend. In he dating process is when you are supposed to knw the likes and dislikes of the person you want to go out with, sex is not supposed to take place in the dating process, exchange of gifts is not mandatory and also you don't express your interest in the person you are dating.
2. Courtship; After the dating process, you now move on to the courtship, you are not supposed to court somebody for more than a year. Courtship begins when you express your interest in somebody, at this stage you would have already known the person because you have spent quite a number of years in the dating process knowing the person so immediately the person accepts your proposal, you just move on to the process of preparing for the marriage.
