couple in India has tragically lost their lives after they were attacked mauled and later fed on for four hours by a sloth bear at Panna national park located in India over the weekend. Information reaching us reveals that the couple identified as Mukesh Rai and Gudiya were walking home in a wooded area when they were attacked by this mighty beast that mauled and fed upon their flesh for four hours.
The attack took place in Panna, India, when Mukesh, 43, and Gudiya, 39, spotted the beast and reportedly attempted to confront it before the brutal attack at around 6.30 am on Sunday the 5th of June, 2022.
They were then savaged by the creature as it tore their bodies apart before feeding on the carcasses. After attacking and eventually killing them, the beast is said to have dragged their bodies to a river where it fed on their remains before the police arrived at the scene. Upon the arrival of the officials, they struggled for two hours before they were finally able to capture the bear and transport it to a zoo.
The family of the deceased was given 400,000 rupees (£4,000). The divisional forest officer added that the bear is not going to be released as they are planning on sending it to a zoo in another country.
Although bears can be very friendly and do not attack occasionally, however, according to research they can be very aggressive and dangerous when they feel threatened or sense danger. This couple was said to be mauled by the bear before it dragged them to a riverside where it fed on their carcasses till authorities arrived. The authorities are said to have struggled for two hours while trying to catch the bear and transport it to a safe country where it will be less dangerous. There similar cases of bear attack and killing individuals. Survivors of such attacks are often left with life threatening wounds and sometime deformity.
