The building of the National Cathedral jas been trending for weeks now since its commencement. The reason is that most Ghanaians suggest it's a new way of the government, his appointees and ministers are trying to embezzle funds of the state.
They went on to accuse Sonnie Badu, Diana Hamilton, and Jack Alolome who were all present and performed at the fundraising for the building of taking huge money. However, the musicians have come out to justify themselves.
Sonnie Babu through his official Facebook handle has addressed the issue of receiving such an amount. In the post made, Sonnie Badu indicated that they were not even allowed to enter the auditorium where the fundraising was going on then to talk of taking home $50, 000.
The fact according to him is that he did not receive even $1 so whoever took that money should give him his portion. He pleaded with the President to investigate because he was unaware of any payment.
I did not collect a penny I stood outside with my team until I was called to minister because I was told there were no seats lol. At least, whoever collected the $50, 000 US dollars in my name, should give me half of it, or bring all of it since you created a budget for me . . .Mr. president, I don’t know what they are talking about so please look into it. . … @nakufoaddo #nationalcathedralSaga
Diana Hamilton Exposes Captain Smart And National Cathedral Secretariat
Management of the best gospel Musician and Adom Hitmaker, Diana Hamilton stated their position on the alleged GH¢30,000 paid to each musician, management revealed that nothing sort of a payment happened. Although they admitted that some level of appreciation was made to Diana Hamilton, it was not any amount closer to the 30K alleged by Captain Smart.
Diana performed in Kumasi when they did the Ashanti Regional one (National Cathedral Fundraiser). We have a category of appreciation for artists.
” I think they appreciated us, but that one I can’t disclose [the amount], and it was not anything close to any charge. That one we didn’t chary. Diana Hamilton performed, but she didn’t charge. But I quite remember; I think they gave something for what she did”
Jack Alolome Washes His hands Clean
Another musician who performed at the Kumasi fundraising has also washed his hands clean from the saga. In a video recorder abroad where Jack Alolome is residing now, he clarified that not even a cedi was paid to him after he performed. He did it voluntarily and if people are saying artists were paid then his portion was not given to him. At the moment he’s not in Ghana but when he comes it’s either they give me the money or they should refund it to wherever it has to go. Jack Alolome again clarified that he has no management team who could have taken the money.
THE NATIONAL CATHEDRAL SECRETARIAT ADDRESSES CAPTAIN SMART ON THE ALLEGED SONNIE BADU PAYMENT.
There have been reports of paying $50, 000 USD to Mr. Sonnie Badu for performing at the National Cathedral Fundraiser but we would like to state that
THE NATIONAL CATHEDRAL SECRETARIAT DID NOT PAY ANY MONEY NEITHER ARE WE AWARE OF SUCH PAYMENT TO SONNIE BADU
The public should disregard any allegations leveled against the secretariat.
Captain Smart Demands For His One Cement
Captain Smart during the launch of the project carried a bag of cement on his head and donated it to help the project.
After several Brouhaha- and scandals, the Onua TV host has demanded that they return his one bag of cement peacefully because he hasn’t seen anything done on-site. All he hears are loot and share.
Where is the money? Whoever has any of the money should bring it. The government says they don’t disburse the funds but rather the Board of Trustees. Is this the representation of the money given you so far? Where is my cement? What did you use it for? Can this represent the money spent so far?
I’m asking the Board of Trustees because the government says the money is disbursed by you”
CONCLUDED:
Even though the National Cathedral Secretariat in its letter boldly stated no payment went on, some Ghanaians are still in doubt suggesting there has been embezzlement somewhere.
