One of Ghana's top insurance companies, Star Assurance Company Limited, has asked businesses to enrol their personnel in a Workmen's Compensation Insurance Policy in order to safeguard them from any workplace illnesses or injuries.
The insurance, which is based on the Workmen's Compensation Act, 1987 PNDC Law 187, protects employees against death, diseases, illnesses, and injuries experienced in the course of their employment.

According to Mr. Adomako, "Even in the terrible event that the accident ends in death or significant and permanent disability, the policy provides for a capital sum for the dependents /beneficiaries of the employee."
