DVLA DEFENDS POSITION AS BEST PROCUREMENT INSTITUTION IN PUBLIC SECTOR

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has made a compelling argument that its recent procurements have placed it among the top organisations in the public sector.

 

Dr. Robert Kweku Tay, the agency's deputy director of procurement and stores, claims that value for money is given priority while innovation is being pursued.

 

 

 

Speaking to Joy Business after winning four accolades at the recently concluded 4th Africa Procurement and Supply Chain Awards, including public sector procurement personality of the year, he pledged that his company will continue to provide superior service in all of its dealings.

 

 

 

The DVLA has won praise for several of its innovations, such as the digital connection with other national identity cards and the issue of drivers' licences in record speed.

 

 

 

Dr. Tay pointed out that infrastructure is being built to guarantee greater effectiveness.  "The equipment used for the alterations you witness at the DVLA is of the highest calibre thanks to the procurement department, which assures this. Therefore, we make sure that everything we buy adheres to rigorous standards.

 

 

 

"At DVLA, we also make an effort to follow all legislative criteria during the procurement process and ensure value for money in all we undertake. Therefore, the department cannot be ignored since we are building the best infrastructure that will enable us to further improve our services, he added.

 

 

 

DVLA maintains its position as the top organisation for public sector procurement

 

The authority was informed. Public Sector Procurement Team of the Year, SOE (Gold) Award for Excellence in Procurement and Supply Chain Public Sector Procurement, Silver character of the The year and the prize for the top 50 procurement leaders in Africa.

 

 

 

According to Instinct Wave, the award's organiser, procurement departments made a substantial contribution to the savings of many institutions during difficult times.

 

 

 

 

 

During the occasion, several procurement and supply chain units were recognised for their contributions to cost reduction at other public and private institutions.

 

 

 

 

MTN Ghana, Anglogold Ashanti Iduaprem, and Guinness Ghana were among the prize recipients.

 

 

 

"Driving excellence in procurement and supply chain management" was the topic of the 4th Africa Procurement and Supply Chain Awards.

 

 

 

Additionally, it was intended to honour trailblazing individuals and supply chain sector leaders.
