Through the Brogya Foundation, Bayport Savings and Loans donated a cutting-edge incubator and phototherapy equipment to the Agogo Presbyterian Hospital in the Ashanti Region.

As the Dompiahene of the Asante Akyem Agogo Traditional Area, Nana Bediako Brogya Sarpong established the charitable organisation known as The Brogya Foundation.

The gift will assist the hospital, a crucial referral healthcare centre in the area, improve the treatment and care of pre-term newborns in particular and help prevent infant mortality generally.

According to Mr. Allen Jubin, chief commercial officer of Bayport, the donation to the Agogo Hospital is in keeping with the company's environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles, which aim to provide the communities where it works with tangible advantages.

Because it closely reflects our ESG goal for the next five years, which focuses on health - as we can see today - and education, Bayport decided to fund the Agogo Hospital through the Brogya Foundation. For those who are talented but in need, the latter takes the form of scholarships, he added.

Pre-term care, according to Mr. Jubin, is still a crucial component of healthcare delivery in the effort to drastically lower infant death rates in the nation. Bayport believed that the hospital's use of the donated technology will help save the lives of both mothers and newborns.

"As we empower and expand, we plan to keep making gifts like this to make sure that the communities in which we operate may gain from more than just our financial services.

Nana Bediako Brogya Sarpong, Dompiahene of Agogo and the founder of the Brogya Foundation, who requested that the contribution be made to the hospital, thanked Bayport for responding to the foundation's plea to get in touch with the medical centre.

He stated that just six phototherapy devices and five incubators are present at the facility, which serves the Asante Akyem region and other settlements.

The pre-term babies sometimes need to be placed in the available incubators in shifts since the equipment we now have is outdated and breaks down often, according to Mr. Kesse. As a result, they spend more time in the hospital than is required, which is bad for their health.

He expressed the hope that the gift will encourage more donors to support the facility.

"I would like to thank Bayport for this gift. Through the Brogya Foundation, we hope that this will be the beginning of a really friendly relationship with them," he continued.

We are an open and transparent organisation and will continue to lead a good cause by making sure that whatever support we get goes to the right place, he said. "It's my prayer that other companies will support the Brogya Foundation to improve the lives of children in Agogo and surrounding communities.

According to Mr. Alex Kesse, general manager of the Agogo Hospital, the equipment would enable the institution to care for pre-term newborns and their families at the highest level.

The Bayport crew also made a courtesy call to Nana Kwame Akuoko Sarpong, the Paramount Chief of the Agogo Traditional Area, who praised them for their choice to assist the community hospital.

He also praised his Dompiahene for using his philanthropic foundation to bring development to the township and other communities while pleading with Bayport and other organisations to provide greater assistance for the expansion and development of the Agogo state.
