President Joe Biden said he has cancer, but the U.S. white house has clarified that he was referring to a diagnosis of skin cancer he acquired before taking office that has since been treated.

In a news conference on July 20 in Somerset, Massachusetts, the US President discussed global warming.

In his address, Biden discussed how his hometown of Claymont, Delaware was impacted by "toxins, pollution, and carbon gases."

"That's why I and so many many other people I grew up with had cancer and why for the longest time, Delaware had the highest cancer rate in the nation," Biden said in a shocking speech to the gathering after recalling his encounters with oil refinery pollutants.

The president was talking to skin tumours that were removed prior to his taking office, according to White House spokesman Andrew Bates.

Prior to becoming president, Biden had "many localised, non-melanoma skin tumours excised," according to a review of the president's health published in November. It was also noted that there were no "areas suspected for skin cancer at this time." It also said there was no need for biopsies.

Bates wrote on Twitter, "This is what the President was talking to."

According to Biden's health summary from 2021, non-melanoma skin tumours were surgically removed by his doctor, Dr. Kevin O'Connor.

Instead than attributing Biden's exposure to toxins employed by the oil sector, the research blamed his time spent in the sun.

That is why I and so darn many other people I grew up with have cancer, according to Biden.

White House spokesman Andrew Bates attempted to downplay the error by citing a tweet from Washington Post writer Glenn Kessler, who stated that Biden had "non-melanoma skin tumours" removed before to taking office.

According to a study released on November 19, "President Biden did spend a significant amount of time in the sun in his boyhood.

Before assuming office, he had a number of small, non-melanoma skin tumours removed via Mohs surgery.

These lesions had clean margins and were totally removed.

The report also included the following information: "Total body skin examination was carried out for dermatologic monitoring.

Liquid nitrogen cryotherapy was used to treat a few little actinic change regions, however at this moment there are no suspected skin cancer locations.

"The review and appreciation of dermatology consultation. Biopsies weren't necessary.
