Since the institution's founding, the Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) has had its largest enrollment.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Osei-Wusu Achaw, reports that 5,401 freshmen were enrolled this academic year, with 64.5 percent men and 35.5 percent women.
The VC proudly stated, "Our year's enrolment is the highest we have ever recorded in any academic year since the inception of our university.
He stated that there were now 12,704 students enrolled at the university, with 68.7% men and 31.3% women.
The university was getting closer to the GTEC threshold of 60%, according to the VC, who stated that 51% of the students were enrolled in TVET.
Congregation No. 19

The university, according to him, has launched eleven new programs this year.
These include the following: MSc Accounting Information Systems, Building Services Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Btech Communications Design, Btech Banking Technology & Finance, and Btech He mentioned programs in interior design, Btech artificial intelligence, BSc Mechatronics, and pre-engineering.
He said that despite their lack of scientific training, students from non-science backgrounds might still pursue their goals of studying engineering through the Pre-Engineering program.
Prof. Osei-Wusu Achaw stated that the launch of these new programs was part of KsTU's ambition to create a cadence of programs that will invariably push the limits of knowledge while providing a grip for productive graduates in addressing Africa's technology concerns and beyond.
