David Ocloo, the assistant coach for Hearts of Oak, said that since captain Gladson Awako has been gone for long time, the team has missed him.
Due to an injury, the 32-year-old has missed the Phobians' previous three matches. It is unknown if he will recover in time for their match against Kotoku Royals on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Ocloo stated that the club's medical staff is focusing on his rehabilitation before the game.
"Our skipper [Awako] is much missed. His recuperation is being worked on by the medical staff. We only ask that he get well quickly.
"Gideon Asante has resumed his workouts. [Robert] Also injured, Addo is getting medical attention. Korsah has returned and has resumed some modest exercise.
"I just wish they all get fit for Sunday's play, but we are good to go," remarked Coach David Ocloo to the club's communication staff.
Greuther Fürth defeats FC Magdeburg thanks to an own goal from Daniel Heber.
In Saturday's 3-0 loss to Greuther Fürth, FC Magdeburg's defender Daniel Heber scored at the incorrect end.
Despite both sides' best efforts, none was able to create clear visual advantages while exerting control over the game. After recent defeats, the Fürth players felt anxious, whilst the Saxony-Anhalt players seemed optimistic based on the current results.
The majority of the Furthern's risk was created by Ragnar Ache, yet he seldom signaled actual danger. Contrarily, Ache received his first opportunities in the fourth and 25th minutes. The best opportunity fell to Fürth's Petkov in the 34th minute, but he missed the goal.
The FC Magdeburg displayed self-control and organization. Yet, there wasn't much forward movement; Magdeburg didn't even attempt a goal until the 45th minute. Fürth made the choice early in the second half after scoring twice and leading 2-0.
Daniel Heber sent the ball into his own net in the 69th minute. On the 75th, Lukas Petkov increased the score to 3-0.
