At the annual general meeting in Cape Town, South Africa, elections were held.
As its executive President, Mr. Mensah will oversee Rugby Africa's operations for the ensuing four years.
Khaled Babbou has stepped down as President of Rugby Africa, and Herbert Mensah, who is now the President of the Ghana Rugby Football Union, will take over for the next four years.
Mensah declared: "I want us to promote rugby as a different team sport as we set out on this road, achieve financial independence, and enhance the World Rugby Elite Program. My goal is to elevate Rugby Africa to the pinnacle of African sports administration."
Mensah's goal of improving African rugby globally would excite rugby supporters all throughout the continent. Menah continued, "Over the next four years, my goal is to promote an inclusive framework for competition that will provide everyone equal opportunity to advance. A national stadium for each member organization as well as the expansion of the women's rugby program are other goals I have set for Rugby Africa."
As Mr. Mensah was elected to the Africa Rugby Executive committee in 2019, his years of steady progress in developing rugby in Ghana and in accordance with international standards were given more attention.
According to a World Rugby youth development initiative called "Get Into Rugby," Herbert Mensah, the President of the Ghana Rugby Union for the previous two years, recruited, trained, coached, and inspired the country's next generation of young women rugby players through elementary schools.
The goal of the new Rugby Africa President is to create a positive and powerful brand for the organization, increase rugby's visibility and accessibility among Africans in general and among young people in particular, and support member associations both structurally and in terms of the sport's economic growth.
Every year, Herbert Mensah is well known for advocating for aid for the victims of the May 9 catastrophe in Ghana.
