Report: What Chelsea staff have said about Antonio Conte to rival Premier League club

Reports have claimed that Chelsea staff have told Tottenham and Manchester United that Antonio Conte would be an absolute nightmare to work with.

According to The Athletic, some staff have even told these clubs that the situation would have been worse working with former manager Jose Mourinho.

Spurs are the latest club to appear to have fallen victim to Conte's curse. The Italian military leader recently released a sensational attack on his players and their mentality.

Reports say he will be fired this week, which is said to be another job he is talking about. The Blues initially enjoyed success under the former Juventus coach. They won the league immediately after taking over the 10th-placed team last season.

The good times did not last, however, and he was gone at the end of the next season, despite his FA Cup glory.

Chelsea staff warned Spurs about Conte

It has now been claimed that staff were still at the club when Spurs asked for a reference that informed them of what they were involved in, but they appear to have received no hint.

Anyway, the management situation at Stamford Bridge is not much better at the moment. Until recently, there was a near-unanimous opinion calling for Graham Potter to be sacked after falling into form with two wins in 17 games in all competitions.

However, a comeback in the last 16 of the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund has helped him relieve the pressure for the time being.

Despite near-permanent support from Todd Boehly in charge of the club, reports have not gone away about potential replacements in west London.

The likes of Mourinho, Hansi Flick and Mauricio Pochettino have been mentioned as the most potential coaches to come if the former Brighton player is sacked.
