The municipal vaccination storage, located inside the Keta Municipal Health Directorate, has power again.
This occurs shortly after The Daily Graphic reported that the directorate was in danger of running out of routine immunization vaccinations due to recent supplies being cut off by the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) for failure to pay bills.
Despite the government designating certain medical facilities, such as vaccine warehouses, operating rooms, medical labs, designated pharmacies, and consultation rooms, as vital and strategic and needing a constant supply of power, the relocation was made.
On Saturday, just after 3 p.m., the directorate's power supply was restored, according to Emmanuel Kona, the Keta Municipal Director of Health.

Life has returned to normal at the directorate, and the directorate is thankful to the Daily Graphic for taking notice of the disconnect at the directorate. The directorate also hopes that this won't happen again.
Dr. Senanu Kwesi Djokoto, the interim director of health for the Volta Region, backed up Mr. Kona's account.
The regional health director reported that the ECG and the regional health directorate had friendly conversations and that serious plans were being made to establish procedures for the regular payment of power bills.
Dr. Djokoto emphasised that it was in the larger public interest to restore authority to the Keta Municipal Health Directorate.
Michael Buabin, the interim Volta Regional Manager of the ECG, stated that every hospital in the region has electricity, save from the health directories. He said that the ECG owes over GH8.9 million to health facilities in the Volta and Oti regions.
Mr. Buabin claimed that since 2021, municipal and district hospitals, CHPS properties, bungalows for medical personnel, and health directorates have accrued debt.
According to him, the Ho Teaching Hospital has already paid GH40,000 towards the 1.4 million Ghanaian shillings it owes the ECG before the exercise.
According to Mr. Buabin, the Peki Government Hospital still owed GH 362,000 in bills, while the Ho Municipal Hospital owed the ECG GH 420,000.
He further stated that the Keta Municipal Hospital owes the ECG GH 465,400.
Collection of debt
The ECG started a national revenue mobilisation effort last Monday to collect all outstanding invoices from its clients, totaling GH 5.7 billion.
The exercise, which is anticipated to take a month, focuses on electricity used by households, enterprises, organisations, ministries, departments, and state bodies between February of this year and 2022.
This forced numerous businesses and organisations to draw quick checks to the ECG while also causing the electricity to be cut off to several installations of national significance.
