In order to empower young people in the Zongo and Inner-Cities, the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has teamed with Maxwell Investments Group to offer cheap approved courses.
The collaboration will help give the youth in these communities the skills they need to compete in today's world, according to Mr. Ben Abdallah Banda, the Presidential Coordinator of the Zongo & Inner-Cities Development Secretariat under the Office of the President, who made this announcement at a business forum in Accra.
"Maxwell Investments Group has partnered with KNUST to offer affordable accredited courses that will empower the youth of the zongo and inner cities and give them the skills necessary to succeed. This is done in the interest of promoting literacy and fostering a comprehensive and inclusive development strategy for our country.
"KNUST-accredited certificates signed by the Vice Chancellor will be given to programme participants, ensuring that the skills they have learned during their studies are appreciated and acknowledged," he said.
A competitive edge in the employment market and access to new prospects, he claimed, would come from the credentials they would earn from taking these courses.

The Maxwell Investments Group (MIG) hosted a business seminar with the topic "Avenues to Manoeuver During an Economic Downturn."
The next iteration of the business forum, according to MIG CEO Dr. Maxwell Ampong, will be centred on increasing entrepreneurial success via sustainability and cooperation.
The next edition will emphasise the value of teamwork and sustainability in order to build on the success of the previous edition.
The topic, he continued, "reflects the commitment of Maxwell Investments Group and the Zongo & Inner Cities Development Secretariat (ZICDS) to cultivate a supporting environment that supports the present and future generation of entrepreneurs to make sustainable change and spur economic progress."
He added the MIG Business Forums seeks to inspire businesspeople to collaborate, exchange resources, and adopt eco-friendly business models for the benefit of the entire community by emphasising the need for collaborative efforts and sustainable practises.
