Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Ghana's energy minister, asserts that he completely supports the Electricity Corporation of Ghana's efforts to recoup every pesewa owing to the firm.

The minister claims that this is a component of broader measures to ensure that the business is able to continue operating and provide customers with effective service.

When he took the ECG's revenue protection team to two businesses that owed the firm significant amounts of money, Dr. Prempeh made these claims.

During these two appearances, the minister lamented the practice of businesses amassing enormous amounts of debt and refusing to pay it off.

He declared, "As a nation, we cannot continue to accept the mentality of not paying bills on time, among other illegalities, and expect top-notch service delivery."

"The financial capacity of the generator and transmitter," he continued Especially as we seek to crack down on all sorts of losses and intra-sector debts, our company's reputation as a supplier and distributor is very much dependent on the quick payment of invoices.

As a result of the symbiotic dependence between these three components of the power value of tea, we must cooperate to prevent any losses.

In addition, the Minister stated that there is absolutely no justification for failing to pay one's power bills and used the example of being unable to bargain with OMCs in order to purchase fuel for a vehicle.

He questioned, "When you require gasoline, you have no choice but to pay for it; why can't you do the same for the power you use?"

The Minister, who is also the Manhyia South MP, continued, "The unaffordable cost of fuel for generators incurred by Ghanaians during the "dumsor" era between 2013 and 2016 is indicative of the luxury of power supply currently," and he pleaded with customers to make prompt payments in order for the value chain to operate efficiently.

The ECG team is still making efforts to collect any debts owing to the business.
