Yesterday, on the National Chief Imam's birthday, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia surprised Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu with a surprise visit.

Yesterday was the Sheikh's 104th birthday, and the Vice President made him the usual early-morning birthday visit at his home in Accra.

Earlier, both the First Lady and President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo paid a visit to the religious leader at his home.

Vice President Bawumia spoke during the visit and lavished praise on Sheikh Sharubutu for his influential life and enormous contributions to the peace and tranquility the nation enjoys.

"Allah has favored our heavenly father." He has a birthday, but it's not just any birthday. A person living to be 100 years old is a significant achievement. Being 104 is a favor from Allah, according to Dr. Bawumia.

"As we are all aware, God gave our country the National Chief Imam as a gift." Furthermore, the Muslim Ummah is extremely blessed and grateful to Allah for bestowing him on us.

Dr. Bawumia commended Sheikh Sharubutu for his role in Ghana's stability and warned people not to take the country's calm for granted.

"He, the National Chief Imam, is largely responsible for the tolerance and harmony that exist in our nation." The second-most peaceful nation in West Africa is Ghana, which is also the most peaceful. It is a gift from Allah, so we shouldn't take it for granted.

"There is a lot of tension among the nations near us, as you can see." But in Ghana, Christians and Muslims are seated next to one another, conversing openly, sharing meals together, and even crying and laughing together.

We shouldn't take this for granted because it differs from many other countries. It is taking place as a result of individuals like the National Chief Imam.

The vice president continued by saying that the Muslim community is also grateful to God for a leader like Sheikh Sharubutu, whose leadership has seen a great deal of growth in Zongo communities as a result of his stellar relationship with the government.

For the first time in Ghanaian history, the Jubilee House Iftar was established under his administration.

"The Zongo Development Fund is complete." You can see that the ZDF has already brought over 400 projects to Ghanaian Zongo villages. There are astroturf fields, clinics, schools, and drainage systems, and roughly 40 Zongo students are being transferred to Cuba to study medicine.

"We are glad and happy that so much is occurring now to support the Zongo community's members." We are grateful to Allah for his life. And if we had the power, we would demand that Allah take him away permanently.  However, we are grateful for the 104 years he has spent giving him to us. And we are eager to return the next year to commemorate 105 years, in shaa Allah.
