FORMER CORE MATHS INSTRUCTOR IS HONOURED BY A ST. PETER'S OLD LAD.

A 1997 graduate of St. Peter's Senior High School in Nkwatia, in the Eastern Region, praised one of his instructors for helping him succeed academically.


Over the weekend, the elder Perscoba Dr. Isaac Okyere Ampofo, a Doctor of Nurse Practice (DNP) with a focus in family medicine in the United States of America (USA), honored Mr. Frank Nyakutey, also known as Aston, for helping him develop an appreciation for core mathematics and enabling him to reach his current position.



Dr. Ampofo, better known as Rakunda, gave his old instructor a plaque with a commendation on it and a check for GHC 10,000 in appreciation for taking the time to assist him in overcoming his academic difficulties.


then as a student of General Arts.


Dr. Ampofo stated during the presentation that he had difficulties comprehending core math as a subject throughout his high school years at St. Peter's.


He claimed that the crucial role Aston played in helping him comprehend the material enabled him to continue his studies at the University of Ghana and, later, at the University of Connecticut, Yale University, and Harvard Business School.



He claimed that the reason he chose to honor Aston was because of the important part he played in his life.


He also used the opportunity to encourage the kids to treat their studies seriously and to be excellent representatives of the institution.


Mr. Nyakutey expressed his gratitude for the presents given to the 97th batch of old boys, in particular to Dr. Ampofo, for the honor bestowed upon him. He also thanked his donor for continuing to think of what he had done for him some 26 years earlier.



The 97-year-old group and Dr. Ampofo were praised by the school's chaplain, Rev. Fr. Jacobson, on behalf of the administration for all of their support over the years and in particular for celebrating Mr. Nyakutey for his commitment to their growth and success in life.

Mr. Martin Sarfo Omari (commonly known as Nima), who serves as the Ashanti, Brong Ahafo, and Northern Zonal Manager for the 97-year-old company, The Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL), said that the organization had, throughout the years, restored and upgraded the staff common area and provided to the school school shirts and other sports equipment from a variety of athletic disciplines. 


Samuel Asamoah (Tiikele), Julius Agboka (Odeneho), Stephen Gyimah (Chopala), Yeboah Rawlings (Tikofy), Maxwell Asante (Waspero), Daniel Ofori (Mamushka), Christopher Amponsah (Toph), Gborgbor Washington, and Joshua Owusu (Snr Mafio) were some of the 97 ex-students who accompanied Dr.
