THE REASON WHY ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC WON’T BE GIVEN A MEDAL EVEN IF AC MILAN WIN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

The Swedish striker has never won Europe’s top competition, and it looks like his wait for glory will have to continue.

Milan managed to get past Napoli in the Champions League quarterfinal to set up an enticing tie in the final four against city rivals Inter. However, if AC Milan go all the way, they will have a few specific players at the club who will not receive a medal for their work, one of whom is a particularly famous figure in the sport.

That player is Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who will not be awarded a medal if Milan go on to lift the 8th European Cup in their history. The 41-year-old has played just four times in all competitions for the side, scoring just one goal and not getting any assists. But his lack of minutes is not the reason for his potential lack of medals.

Why won't Zlatan get a winner’s medal?

The reason he would not receive a medal should AC Milan lift the trophy is simply because he is not registered in their squad for the European competition. Poor Zlatan has played for Manchester United, Barcelona, Ajax, Juventus, Inter, Milan, and PSG but has yet to lift the Champions League.

And even despite the amazing progress of AC Milan in this season’s edition of the tournament, Zlatan would have to look on longingly from the sidelines as his teammates celebrated with their silverware. The Italian side, with seven, is second in the all-time rankings, seven behind Real Madrid, who are also in the semi-finals this year.

Sergio Dest is another player who would be left out of any celebrations as he is also not on the official squad list for the Champions League. However, his situation is slightly more serious than that of Ibrahimovic, as Dest was even allowed to leave mid-season to play with the USMNT in search of minutes.

Agent of Arsenal, Newcastle target Milinkovic-Savic blasts his critics

The agent of Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has hit out at critics in the press.

The Serb, who is a target for Arsenal and Newcastle United, has been blamed for Lazio's recent stumbles.

“We've spoken many times with the president, deciding that we'll discuss everything at the end of the season, especially now that Lazio need peace," agent Mateja Kezman told Il Corriere dello Sport.

“That's why everyone at Lazio must remain united. Four games remain, and I am sure they will play in the Champions League next season."

Lazio have suddenly collapsed after three defeats in four games.

“Somebody is using harsh words to discuss Milinkovic and his form - they are enemies of Lazio," he stated. “It's shameful that somebody is trying to cause problems and weaken the team.

“It's true that Sergej is not at his best moment, but over the last eight years, he has never been below his level. He may have had some bad weeks, but at the end of the day, he's just a man who can have highs and lows also in his private life.

“He wants to help the club reach a fantastic target like the Champions League. Nobody can question his commitment, his loyalty and his love for Lazio. It is unpleasant to hear stories from people I mentioned earlier about his contract and future daily."
