"GOOD BYE TO...," - SAM GEORGE UPON DUFFUOR'S RESIGNATION

When asked what he thought about Dr. Kwabena Duffuor withdrawing from the presidential primary, Sam Nartey George, the member of parliament for Ningo Prampram who is running for re-election in the current primary, responded, "Good riddance to..."

"Remember when I told you that Kwabena Duffuor wasn't running against John Mahama in this race? I informed you that he was running against invalid votes. "Kwabena Duffuor has been defeated by spoiled ballots, too badly," he said to reporters who were covering the primary as part of the Ningo Prampram campaign.

Michael Kwetey Tetteh, a candidate in the Ningo Prampram Constituency primary, has hinted at a bad outcome in the case that 16 delegates from two branches be barred from casting their votes.

The NDC must permit 16 delegates to vote in the Ningo-Prampram constituency primary, according to a ruling from Tema's High Court.

These people are two branches of the constituency's executives who weren't sworn in after the party's branch elections.

They were therefore not included on the constituency's list of delegates, which prevented them from participating in today's primary.

In order to force the party and the constituency executives to swear them in before the approaching primaries, the unhappy executives—led by Jonas Tetteh Obinya, Mattew Ayiku, Mathias Narh, Emmanuel Tawiah, and Joshua Tetteh—dragged the party to court.

The party was directed by the court, presided over by Emmanuel Ankamah, a Court of Appeal judge serving as a second High Court Judge, to not only swear them in so they may participate in the election but also add their names to the list of delegates.

Even the two who have been sworn in as the court has directed would be prohibited from voting, Mr. Tetteh stated in a statement to the press on Saturday. I can assure you that this election will not go well," he stated.

After losing the nomination to Sam Nartey George in the last primary by seven votes, Mr. Tetteh was hopeful about his chances of gaining the nomination this time around to represent the NDC in parliament.
