When the festival was arranged, several of the attendees who expressed their excitement for the occasion informed Graphic Online that they would be happy to come every year. They anticipated that further gatherings would be expanded to include all of the nation's regional capitals.
They believed that the many experiments, exhibits, contests, museum visits, poster presentations, scientific communication workshops, and special lectures by eminent Ghanaian scientists were "simply appropriate" for the occasion.
Importance
Opening the event was Dr. Thomas Tagoe, co-founder of G.H. Scientific, who stressed the need to give students and parents alike an approachable introduction to science.
He pointed out that attendees had the chance to interact with experts and learn about the fulfilling nature of a career in research.
Last but not least, he added, "It was also a good chance to have a family day out, something different from the usual."
Regarding the event's goals, Dr. Tagoe stated that the planners hold the view that science is not just about education, examinations, and jobs.
He claimed that as SciFest is a family-friendly event, "everyone can experience this fun for themselves." There is creativity and invention in science.
The MST's head, Mrs. Akosua Buckmann, stressed the importance of her organization in narrating Ghana's history and tracking advancements in the STEM fields.
