Manchester United are expected to look to sign Ibrahim Sangare from PSV Eindhoven as talks for Sofyan Amrabat continue to drag.

The 25-year-old PSV midfielder would be a better option for Man United than the Morocco international, and he comes at a bargain price.

According to ESPN in the Netherlands, Sanagre has a €37m (£32m) release clause included in his current contract.

And for a player with the qualities of the Ivory Coast international, signing him was completely understandable for United manager Erik ten Hag.

United are not willing to pay what the Italian club are asking for the 26-year-old. While Sangare will be more expensive than Amrabat, it will be much better value than Moroccan.

Manchester United should stop chasing Sofyan Amrabat

Sangare could be the man to take United to the next level. He is a defensive midfielder who can support and compete for Casemiro, but he can also play alongside the Brazilian.

The Ivory Coast player can play box-to-box comfortably and is a real threat in the future with his speed, power and superb carrying ability.

He had 8 goals and 3 assists in 45 games last season, and has 1 goal and 1 assist in 3 appearances this season. Benfica's current manager, Roger Schmidt, has described Sangare as 'unstoppable' in 2021 (Dutch media ED). He's also perfect - PSV's ace is one of the best in the world in his particular position.

Check out this comparison between Sangare and Amrabat. PSV players lead the Fiorentina midfielder in five of seven categories despite playing the same number of minutes last season:

Sanagre is a year younger than Sofyan Amrabat, so signing him this summer would be an easy decision for Ten Hag.

One thing to know, though - United will have no trouble in the race for the PSV star. According to ESPN in the Netherlands, Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Nottingham Forest all want to sign the powerhouse midfielder.

If the Red Devils really want to sign the Ivorian, they just need to act fast. Sangare has the ability to bring Ten Hag to the Promised Land.

He's the perfect fit for the Premier League's physique and pace, and the 6ft 3in midfield trio alongside Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes is an exciting prospect.
