Former Manchester United star Zlatan Ibrahimovic has questioned Erik ten Hag's future at Old Trafford amid the club's growing crisis.

Ten Hag has seen United get off to their worst start in the Premier League, with four defeats in their opening seven matches. The Red Devils also lost their first match of the Champions League season to Bayern Munich two weeks ago.

Before coming to Old Trafford, Ten Hag spent 5 years leading Ajax, winning 3 Eredivisie titles and 2 KNVB Cups. But even after winning that title, Ibrahimovic became increasingly concerned that he might not be the right man for United.

The former striker won the Europa League and the Carabao Cup during his time with the Red Devils. And he fears that Ten Hag will not be able to manage a team of superstars, rather than the promising players he worked with at Ajax.

“Moving from Ajax to United like he did was a big difference—I've been at both clubs. You have a different kind of discipline. Ajax is a talented club. They have the best talent at the club. They don't have big stars," Ibrahimovic told TalkTV.

“How experienced is this coach? Young talents go to United; it's a different mentality. The players there are said to be big stars. I don't think you give the same treatment. “How much time do you spend with the coach?

It depends on the owners, and what they want, but if you listen to the fans, you don't have much time because they want to win, and I understand them because they do too. are used to winning, and they still want to win."

The saga that saw Cristiano Ronaldo leave United last December after an explosive interview and Jadon Sancho's continued exile also raised red flags in Ibrahimovic's mind. The Swedish legend insists United "must win," but Ten Hag is stuck between immediate success and coming up with a long-term plan.

This prompted him to call on club executives to start considering whether the Dutchman was the right man for the job. "United must win, they must win every title they win. Now they are dominated by their neighbor Manchester City and the situation there is completely different.

Everyone has a responsibility to meet the requirements," he added. “You need to get back on track and try to achieve it. You need a plan, you need a plan to execute. It's like following a project plan and then it immediately falls apart because of the results.

"Either you believe or you don't believe. But with the coach's situation, I think he is currently going through two different situations. Then obviously what happened with Sancho and Cristiano, I don't know. When everything is fine, there are still mistakes and problems, but you don't see that because we won."
