Bruno Fernandes is tipped to make a shock exit from Manchester United as Saudi officials seek to meet those close to him over a proposed transfer.
The Saudi Pro League has managed to secure the services of some of the biggest names in world football following the blockbuster signing of Cristiano Ronaldo.
The likes of Karim Benzema, Neymar, and Riyad Mahrez, among others, have left Europe for the Middle East. And Saudi leaders are still on the hunt for the best players as they look to poach Mohamed Salah from Liverpool and Kevin De Bruyne from Manchester City.
It is reported that Saudi officials are also considering a deal with Manchester United captain Fernandes, so Salah and De Bruyne are not the only superstars from the Premier League that they are interested in.
According to Italian journalist Rudy Galetti, the 29-year-old, who scored his side's winning goal against Fulham last weekend, is an emerging name on the list of potential summer signings.
It is believed that representatives of PIF, which owns majority shares in Al Nassr, Al Hilal, Al Ittihad and Al Ahli, are expected to hold talks with the player regarding the possibility of future negotiations.
Fernandes joined the Old Trafford team in January 2020 with a contract worth up to £66 million. He has made 200 appearances for the club, scoring 67 and was named captain of Man United before this season. Will Fernandes follow his Portuguese compatriot Ronaldo to Saudi Arabia?
A source has claimed that Salah's move from Liverpool to Saudi Arabia is 'expected to go through' next year.
The 31-year-old is admired by Saudi Arabia chiefs as Al Ittihad attempted to lure him to the Middle East during the summer transfer window.
Though they failed in their pursuit to sign the Egyptian winger as Liverpool turned down Al Ittihad's advances.
A reported bid of £150 million was turned down by the Reds as they held onto their star player.
