King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, the GA Mantse, has boldly declared the outcome of the crucial upcoming general elections in December. Both major political parties are well-positioned to take home the hardware in the 2024 national elections, so voters may expect a close race. Administrative regions, not affiliated with any major political party, have decided the results of previous general elections under the Fourth Republic era.
Ghanaian terminology famously refers to the Central, Western, and Greater Accra Regions as "swing regions" due to their political neutrality. According to the esteemed traditional leader, the Greater Accra Region will play a crucial role in deciding Ghana's election results in 2024. The King of Accra made this bold declaration during a courtesy call with Nana Kwame Bediako, the leader of the New Force Movement, who sought his permission and blessing before embarking on a tour of the Greater Accra Region. He asserts that the country's next president will almost certainly be the winner of the Greater Accra Region presidential primary.
He urged calm before, during, and after the national election in December, describing it as the most momentous in the Fourth Republic's history. He emphasized in his message to young people that politicians should not manipulate the upcoming December 7 elections for their own benefit. It is the most important election of the 4th Republic, and I want to say that Accra will decide it this year.
As the Ga Mantse warns, Ghanaians must not let themselves be used to harm each other. Free and fair elections in Ghana are well-known, and it seems like the upcoming general election will be no exception. This is a wake-up message for everyone involved in the country's election administration process, according to the influential chief of Accra.
