Lil Win was arrested on June 3, 2024, in connection with the fatal accident. After his arrest, he was granted bail by the Asokore Mampong district court. The bail was set at 50,000 Ghana Cedis, with the condition that he provide two sureties.

In a previous court hearing, the prosecution revealed that the case docket had been sent to the Attorney General’s office for review. During the latest court proceedings on July 29, 2024, it was noted that the docket is still under examination by the Attorney General's office.

Following the court session, Margaret Mary Adjei Twum spoke to the media, explaining the severe impact the incident and subsequent negative publicity have had on Lil Win. She noted that the media coverage has not only affected the actor personally but also impacted his professional work, particularly his movie "A Country Called Ghana."

“In fact, those incidents have really affected him. The way we were praying that the movie, ‘A Country Called Ghana’, how it was supposed to go because of the accidents and the media and also the negative comments around it has somehow affected the movie itself. But what can you say? Somebody is dead. So we are not thinking in terms of comics,” she stated.

Twum emphasized the seriousness of the situation, acknowledging the tragedy of the child's death and expressing sympathy for the grieving family. She stressed that their primary concern is not financial compensation but rather seeking comfort and closure for the family of the deceased.

“We want to think as reasonable human beings. And then we pray that as time flies, the family of the deceased will have some sort of comfort, and closure. We are not so much conscious about the money. Now we pray that the family members will be healed and then things will be fine,” she added.

The lawyer reiterated their commitment to defending Lil Win’s innocence and assured that their stance would only change based on the findings from the Attorney General’s report.

“We will defend because we are so standing on his innocence. We still believe in his innocence until proven otherwise. We will still pursue our posture and the theory of our case will change when we have the reports from the Attorney General,” she concluded.

As the case continues, all eyes remain on the Attorney General’s office for their recommendation on whether to move forward with prosecution. Meanwhile, Lil Win and his legal team await the outcome with hopes that the actor will be cleared of any wrongdoing in this tragic incident
