Manchester City are the team most likely to land the Champions League, according to a supercomputer.

The Premier League outfit will be seeking to regain their European crown when the competition begins on Tuesday night having won it for the first time back in 2023. City had been knocking on the door for several years under Pep Guardiola, losing in finals and semi-finals before getting the job done in Istanbul.

Last term Real Madrid ended their reign in the last eight, but the Manchester outfit have been deemed the favourites to win this year's renewal. Los Blancos bolstered their ranks in the summer with the headline capture of Kylian Mbappe from PSG.

The Frenchman will aid the Spanish side's chances of winning a record-extending 16th European crown. Real, as per the various supercomputer metrics, have been rated as the third favourites to win the Champions League, behind Bayern Munich, whom they beat in last year's semi-final.

BetVictor used AI and analysed 12 measurable criteria - which included goals scored and conceded per games as well as their win percentage - to determine who is likely to conquer Europe this season.

Bayern have Vincent Kompany at the helm and will hope the goals of Harry Kane can fire them to a seventh success in the competition. They last conquered Europe in 2020 under Hansi Flick, when they claimed the treble.

Arsenal returned to Europe's top table last term after several years away and saw their hopes ended in the last eight by the German giants. Now they are a year wiser for their experience with many of their players taking part in the Champions League for the first time.

Alongside Real they've been rated as the third most likely winners - which would be their first ever Champions League success. Their best result in their final defeat in 2006 at the hands of Barcelona. Fellow Premier League outfit Liverpool are narrowly below the Gunners when it comes to the supercomputer's metrics.

The Reds landed European glory under Jurgen Klopp back in 2019 and have since been back to the final. Now with Arne Slot at the helm they will hope to have a similar impact with Anfield renowned for being a huge advantage when it comes to European contests.

PSG and Barcelona too are among the fancied sides, but neither have reigned supreme for some time. The French outfit embark on a new era minus Mbappe and are yet to win the prize that their Qatari owners so crave with their final appearance in 2020 their best effort.

Barcelona meanwhile have Champions League winners in their team and the dugout. Flick has overseen an impressive start to his tenure and has several Euro 2024 winners in his side with Lamine Yamal among them. Their last victory came in 2015 and they've struggled to challenge since.
