Trent Alexander-Arnold has issued a message after helping Liverpool beat AC Milan in the Champions League. The Reds claimed a 3-1 win over the Serie A giants to begin their return to Europe's premium cup competition in perfect style.

Arne Slot's side had fallen a goal behind, with former Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund forwards opening the scoring at the San Siro. Liverpool responded by Ibrahima Konate scoring a header from an Alexander-Arnold free-kick.

That header led to another set-piece goal for Liverpool, with Virgil van Dijk finding the back of the net from a Kostas Tsimikas corner. Dominik Szoboszlai completed the scoring with the Reds' third goal of the game to secure the victory in Italy.

After the final whistle, Alexander-Arnold posted a message on Instagram to celebrate the win. The Liverpool vice captain issued a four-word verdict on the game, where he wrote: "Back where we belong."
