The draw for the fourth round of the Carabao Cup will take place next week.

We had to dig deep to take our place in the last 16 of the competition with a late, late show at Coventry City in round three on Wednesday night as goals from Djed Spence—his first competitive goal for us—and Brennan Johnson on 88 and 90+2 minutes turned the tie around for us.

Now we'll have to wait until next Wednesday evening (25 September) for the draw, which will take place live on Sky Sports after the third round tie between Liverpool and West Ham.

The third round has been split over two weeks on the return of European football. Indeed, we play our first match in the new-look league stage of the UEFA Europa League at home to Qarabag on Thursday week (26 September, 8pm UK).

The fourth round of the Carabao Cup is scheduled to take place on the week commencing October 28.

We're joined by Stoke, Sheffield Wednesday, Brentford, Southampton, Preston, Palace, Manchester United, and Brighton as teams who have already made it through to the fourth round. The third round results and the rest of the third round ties next week are listed below.

The so-called “trial of the century” in English soccer, widely regarded as one of the most significant in the sport’s history, may have a grim outcome for Manchester City.

The final verdict from the independent commission won’t be revealed until early 2025, following the conclusion of the 10-week hearing that began in London on Monday. Manchester City continue to assert their innocence in response to the 115 to 130 charges brought against the club by the Premier League for alleged financial irregularities.
