Manchester City players reportedly have one club that they fear more than others—and it's not Arsenal.
City and Arsenal played out a 2-2 draw at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, which was full of controversial moments.
Erling Haaland was investigated after the game for throwing a ball at the head of Gabriel Magalhaes but escaped without punishment.
He later confronted manager Mikel Arteta after the final whistle, while tempers flared after Kai Havertz collided with Rodri early on.
But while there was plenty of needle in that clash, City players appear not to fear Arsenal as much as one other club.
That's according to commentator Riccardo Trevisani, who has relayed what City defender Josko Gvardiol told him at a restaurant.
Speaking to Italian outlet Cronache di Spogliatoio, Trevisani explained: "I met Josko Gvardiol in a restaurant and he told me, 'No team in the Premier League has ever faced us the way Inter did'.
"Inter came out of Manchester with a sense of boldness that killed them off. If you add up psyche and physique, Inter was not in the best condition.
"And even Manchester City struggled to put in two-level performances. By the 97th minute [against Arsenal], they were down.
City faced Inter Milan in the Champions League last week but couldn't find a way past the reigning Serie A champions.
The result was a rare 0-0 draw for Pep Guardiola's side at the Etihad Stadium, with both teams collecting a point from their opening game of the Champions League season.
Inter, meanwhile, suffered derby heartbreak when they lost 2-1 to AC Milan on Sunday evening.
Reports had circulated in Italian media that Milan boss Paulo Fonseca could have lost his job with a defeat, but the Portuguese manager has remained in his role following the crucial victory.
