According to a report by L’Équipe, Kylian Mbappé (25) and Paris Saint-Germain have been provided a date for the next stage in their ongoing wage dispute, with the two parties set to meet in front of a joint appeals committee on the 15th of October.

This meeting was agreed after PSG appealed against the decision from the LFP legal committee, which demanded that the club pay their former player €55 million in unpaid wages and bonuses.

The club have strongly contested this decision and point to a publicised verbal agreement they made with the Real Madrid forward that if he were to leave on a free transfer he would give up some of his money to protect the Parisian club. However, none of this was ever placed in writing.

As L’Équipe notes depending on the decision of the joint appeals committee, another appeal could take place which would go before a higher appeals committee which would be under the aegis of the French Football Federation. Beyond the higher appeals committee, the case could move to the civil courts, the administrative courts, or even an industrial tribunal.

With just over 48 hours until the visit to the Metropolitano, uncertainty lingers in the Spanish capital. The countdown to the derby for 21-year-old Camavinga begins tomorrow, Saturday, when it will be determined whether he is part of Ancelotti’s plans for Sunday’s clash between Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid.

On both Thursday and Friday, the French midfielder trained partially with the group, still sporting a bandage on his lower knee. However, he has yet to fully rejoin the team’s activities. The final decision on his availability won’t come until tomorrow.

Will Mbappé play for Real Madrid against Atlético Madrid?

Ancelotti mentioned before the LaLiga match against Alavés that Camavinga was set to resume training with the team in preparation for the derby. The plan has been to gradually increase the workload for the player over three days, with Saturday marking the final assessment. Camavinga, along with the coaching staff and medical team, will make a decision on his condition to determine his participation.

Camavinga is nearing the end of his recovery timeline. After spraining his left knee just before the European Super Cup, his return was projected to take six to seven weeks. The six-week mark was reached last Tuesday, leaving his status as the only unresolved issue for Ancelotti ahead of Sunday’s derby.

Four players are confirmed to be out:Brahim, Alaba, and Ceballos. Carvajal, who was rested by Ancelotti in the match against Alavés after picking up a knock against Espanyol, has rejoined group training. Kylian Mbappé will be out for 3 weeks and will miss the derbi madrileño.

Following the derby, Real Madrid still face two more matches before the next international break. On Wednesday, October 2, they will travel to northern France to face Lille in the Champions League group stage, and on Saturday, October 5, they will host Villarreal at the Bernabéu.

The game between Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid will be played on Sunday 29 October, with kick off at 3:00 p.m. ET / 12:00 p.m. PT. You can watch a live stream of Osasuna vs Barcelona on FuboTV (Free Trial)
