Dr Randy Abbey, a member of the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has declared the Black Stars must secure victories against Sudan in their upcoming doubleheader.

On Friday, October 11, at the Accra Sports Stadium, Ghana and the Falcons will square off in the third matchday of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers. On Monday, October 14, at the Martyrs of February Stadium, there will be a rematch.

After losing 1-0 to Palancras Negras of Angola at Baba Yara Stadium and drawing 1-1 with Niger in Berkane, the Black Stars' qualifying campaign got off to a poor start.

The four-time African champions are now in third place with just one point as a result.

Dr. Abbey has said that the games versus Kwesi Appiah's team are crucial in light of these outcomes.

He pledged to put in all of his effort to win as it will increase their prospects of making it to the tournament in Morocco.

"We have to win this game," he said in a Metro TV interview.

We are aware of the repercussions if we lose, so we must exert every effort to win that game.

"Therefore, we must prevail in that game, and after we have resolved that, we will concentrate on the upcoming games," he continued.

Later this week, Otto Addo is anticipated to reveal his team for the games.

Mohammed Polo is optimistic that the Black Stars will qualify for AFCON 2025 despite their disorganized start.

Despite a slow start, Ghanaian icon Mohammed Polo has voiced optimism about the Black Stars' chances of qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The four-time African champions lost to Angola and drew with Niger in September, and they are yet to win in their first two Group F matches.

"Yes!" he replied when asked if the Black Stars might qualify for the AFCON 2025. For Ghana, it is not yet over. We will struggle a bit but we will undoubtedly qualify”

Though he expressed hope for the Black Stars' qualification, he has pushed the team to improve in their next games.

"I'll exhort the group to perform better. In an interview, he told Ghanasoccernet.com, "They need to improve, but there will be pressure because of how they started the qualifiers."

Sudan will visit the Black Stars in Ghana on October 11, 2024, following the Accra Sports Stadium's approval by the CAF. On Monday, October 14, the team will depart for Libya to play Sudan in the second leg at the Martyrs of February Stadium.

Otto Addo, the coach of Ghana, has not yet announced his team for the much-awaited match that takes place next week. The Black Stars, who had a dismal start to the qualifications last month, will be looking to improve their prospects of qualifying for AFCON 2025 when they play Sudan.
