In a thrilling 2-1 victory over Young Apostles, Hearts of Oak overcame a goal that was disallowed to record their second victory of the year at Wenchi Sports Stadium.

Following a period of constant pressure, Emmanuel Amankwah gave the Phobians the lead in the 50th minute.

But earlier in the match, a Hearts goal was disallowed, causing debate and frustrating the visiting team.

Samuel Prempeh gave the Young Apostles the equalizer in the 84th minute as they rallied late in the game. Hearts of Oak reacted right away, just as it appeared that the game might end in a draw.

Hearts won thanks to a well-timed finish from Hamza Issah two minutes after they had fallen behind.

With 56% of the ball in possession, Hearts of Oak held a little edge. Both teams had a fair number of goal attempts, with Young Apostles scoring 12 compared to Hearts' 10.

Hearts of Oak moved up to eighth place in the standings as a result of the win, but Young Apostles fell into the relegation zone because they were unable to use their home-field advantage. The victory is a welcome relief for Hearts, who had lost both of their previous games to goalless draws.

Report on the Nations FC 1-1 Bibiani Gold Stars match for Week 6

On Sunday, October 13, 2024, Bibiani Gold Stars hosted Nations FC in a thrilling match on the sixth day at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.

Both sides are still undefeated this season, and a goal in each half of the match guaranteed that the prizes were split at Abrankese.

Faisal Charwetey broke the 31-minute stalemate, allowing nations to make their home dominance matter.

Barima Baah cut back to put a pass in the penalty area as the hosts launched a quick counterattack.

A clumsy clearance by Vicent Atinga made sure the ball got to Charwetey for a nice finish.

The Miners settled into a groove after the break and continued to try to tie the score.

In the 80th minute, their effort paid off as they managed to breach the Nation's defense and Kelvin Oppong scored to level the game.

After the goal, the Gold Stars managed to withstand pressure from Mingle's team to earn a vital point that put them atop the league rankings with 12 points.

With ten points, Nations is in fifth place. They will play Aduana in their next match at Dormaa, while the Gold Stars will host Medeama.
