Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, the former chairman of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has voiced reservations over Otto Addo's unwillingness to assemble the Black Stars largely from local talent.

This remark follows Ghana's shocking 2-0 defeat to Sudan in the second leg of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match.

Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe revealed that he urged Addo to concentrate on building the senior national team around domestic players during a meeting at the Ghanaman Soccer of Excellence in Prampram.

The 45-year-old coach said, nevertheless, that he was afraid of being made fun of if the strategy failed.

"I encouraged Otto Addo to build the Black Stars around local players because the players in Europe are not the best and they are always careful when they are playing," he said to Asempa FM after meeting him at the Ghanaman Soccer of Excellence in Prampram. "The coach told me that people will laugh at him if he tries the local players and he fails," he said.

After the loss, there have been concerns about the players' dedication.

With two points from four games, the Black Stars are now in third position in Group F. They will reassemble to play their last group games against Niger and Angola in November.

Thomas Partey is "fit and ready" for Arsenal's match against Bournemouth, according to Mikel Arteta.

Thomas Partey is healthy and ready for Saturday's match against AFC Bournemouth, according to Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.

In the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, the 31-year-old left the Black Stars squad for the two games against Sudan.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) claims that Partey's "medical difficulties" prevented him from joining the rest of his teammates.
Speaking to the media on Friday morning after the international break ended, Arteta stated that the midfield player is fully recovered and should play in their upcoming match.

Thomas Partey is prepared. Like Havertz, Gabriel Martinelli will be the subject of a decision today," he stated.

He went on to say, "We expect to get some encouraging news, as Ben White, Timber, and Zinchenko are fairly near."

The Vitality Stadium will host Arsenal as they aim for the top spot in the Premier League standings.
