Prosper Narteh Ogum, the tactician for Asante Kotoko, is optimistic about his team's chances before their Ghana Premier League matchup with Samartex.

On Sunday, the Porcupine Warriors will meet the Timber Giants at Obuasi Len Clay Stadium on matchday seven of the local top flight.

During his pregame remarks, the former WAFA coach was confident that his team could defeat the reigning champions in the match.

Samartex, in my opinion, is a very good side and a well-run club. As you can see, they have a structure, therefore to score as many points as possible when playing them, you must be above them.

"We have seen them, and even if they are one game ahead of us, I don't think there will be a significant difference in match fitness."

"I think all we need to do is be calm, confident, and determined. Additionally, we play within a structure. The crowd will be behind us when we play at home. Even though they are the current champions, the players need to consider that it is possible. However, I feel that we are also capable and capable of finishing the task.

Samartex is in third place with ten points in the Ghana Premier League rankings, while Asante Kotoko is in second place with eleven points.

After six games in the domestic top division, it is noteworthy that Asante Kotoko is already one game behind.

Amid Black Stars' troubles, Rashid Sumaila advocates stopping the blame game and fixing the issue.

Rashid Sumaila, a former defender for the Black Stars, is worried about the team's recent woes and has urged Ghanaian football authorities to address the issues rather than assign blame.

At the Benina Martyrs Stadium in Libya on Tuesday afternoon, Ghana, the four-time AFCON champions, lost 2-0 to the Falcon Jediane.

The outcome puts the Black Stars in danger of missing out on the CAF's premier event, which will take place in Morocco the following year. The last time the four-time African champions did not make it to the AFCON competition was in 2004.

In an interview with Koforidua-based Bryt FM, he stated, "Whether we like it or not, we've lost, so I think it will be prudent for us to put it behind us and find solutions to our problems."

If we keep assigning blame rather than coming up with solutions, we will keep having problems. I think things will improve if the leadership takes the time to examine themselves, address the issues, and give the team more time.

In November, the Black Stars will play their final Group F matches against Angola and Niger.

Ghana must now defeat Angola and Niger, who have already qualified, and hope that Sudan loses to these same opponents to maintain their hopes of making it to the tournament in Morocco the following year.
