Kyle Walker is the latest target for the Saudi Pro League and the England international is being eyed to line up with former Manchester City and England teammates next term.

Al-Ahli have made Walker their primary target and the City captain will have only 12 months remaining on his deal next summer. The 34-year-old extended his contract in September 2023 after Walker had discussed a move to Bayern Munich.

The Saudi side is already home to a number of players Walker will be familiar with. Their landmark signing in 2024 saw Ivan Toney arrive in the Middle East in a £40million deal from Brentford.

The England striker joined a squad that already includes ex-City winger Riyad Mahrez, and former Premier League stars Roberto Firmino and Edouard Mendy. Needs to splash the cash will not peturb the side.

Reports suggest that City would be open to allowing Walker to leave should he desire. The club have seen young star Rico Lewis continue to progress and started the season in Pep Guardiola's first team as Walker was given time to recover from Euro 2024.

It is claimed that City would demand a fee of £20m to part ways with their captain however. Walker has proven to be a central figure to the club's success as they go in search of their fifth league title in a row.

Walker made his 400th Premier League appearance against Fulham before the international break. Speaking upon the achievement, Guardiola suggested his charge still holds the physical conditioning to continue to compete at the top.

The former Barcelona coach was full of praise for the defender and highlighted his consistency over the years they have worked together.

"I don’t have any doubts about Kyle and his physicality," said Guardiola. "He can play whenever Kyle is focused on what he has to do. I’m happy he’s back in the national team.

“This milestone is unbelievable, and I think his win rate is not just spectacular, it’s superior. That’s why I congratulate him, because that means how consistent you are and how many games you play and have few injuries.

"His physicality is out of the norm. Kyle has to be completely focused to get the best of him. He has to give everything in training sessions and in the games and the minutes he plays against all the teams in this competition."
