Erling Haaland delivered a moment of brilliance to help Manchester City secure a dominant win over Sparta Prague in the Champions League at Etihad Stadium. His exceptional performance ensured City's unbeaten run in the tournament continued.
Despite being thwarted earlier by Sparta Prague's goalkeeper, Peter Vindahl, Haaland broke through in the second half with an acrobatic backheel volley from Savinho’s cross. Even Haaland seemed surprised by the spectacular finish, which gave City much-needed breathing space after a series of missed opportunities.
Phil Foden had given City an early lead with a clinical strike just three minutes into the game, sending a strong signal that City might run away with the match. Haaland then bagged his second goal of the night, curling a beautiful shot into the net, taking his Champions League tally to an incredible 44 goals at just 24 years old.
To cap off the victory, Matheus Nunes converted a penalty late in the match, marking his first Champions League goal and sealing a 5-0 win for the hosts. The final score reflected Manchester City’s dominance and ensures their strong position in the group, with two wins and one draw so far this season.
