After a sluggish start to the Ghana Premier League season, Hearts of Oak skipper Benjamin Asare has reassured the team's supporters that better days are ahead.

The Phobians, who are now six points behind the leaders and in ninth place in the league standings, have only won two of their first seven games, despite going five games without a loss.

Asare spoke to the media following Hearts of Oak's goalless draw with Dreams FC on Sunday, advising supporters to exercise patience.

"I have to advise the supporters to have patience with the team. We are not able to win every game. They can anticipate more triumphs from us.

"You can see that we have improved if you watch the games we have played. Football is another sport where things don't always go your way.

In the eighth week of play, Hearts of Oak will meet the Bibiani GoldStars on Sunday at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.

The Black Stars fall once further in the FIFA rankings, landing in 14th place in Africa.

Following a losing streak in the October international window, Ghana's Black Stars have fallen in the most recent FIFA Coca-Cola ranking.

The Black Stars now sit 14th on the continent and have dropped three spots from 70th to 73rd place worldwide.

The most recent decline follows a draw and a loss to Sudan in the qualifying round for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Following comparable performances against Angola and Niger in the AFCON qualifiers, Ghana dropped to 70th place in September.

Due to their winless record in Group F of the qualifiers, the four-time African champions are in danger of missing the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Comoros, Ghana's opponents in the World Cup qualifying group, are 10 spots higher globally and are the greatest movers on the ranking.

With France, Spain, England, and Brazil rounding out the top five, Argentina maintained its position at the top.

Senegal, Egypt, Nigeria, and Algeria are in order of precedence at the pinnacle of Africa, after Morocco.

To finish the Nations Cup qualifying for Morocco 2025, Ghana will next play Angola and Niger.
