Aboubakar Ouattara, the coach of Hearts of Oak, feels his team hasn't yet reached its best in the current Ghana Premier League season.

After suffering two straight losses in Ghana's premier division, the Phobians are back on track. They lost the first two games to Heart of Lions and Basake Holy Stars, both by a score of 1-0.

After seven games this season, Ouattara and his team have managed two victories, two losses, and three draws. The Rainbow Boys are currently in ninth place with nine points.

Hearts of Oak held the struggling Dreams FC to a thrilling goalless draw at the Tuba Astro Turf over the weekend. Both teams created chances but were unable to score and had to settle for a draw.

After the game, Ouattara gave his team's performance a 55 percent rating and promised to raise their productivity.

"I'm pleased to see how quickly my players are picking up the game's strategies. We're coming slowly. We are currently at 55%, and we will keep working," he stated.

On matchday eight of the Ghana Premier League season, Hearts of Oak will host the league leaders, the Bibiani Goldstars, at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.

Prince Tagoe said it was improper to give Mohammed Kudus captain of the Black Stars while Jordan Ayew was there.

Prince Tagoe, a former Black Stars striker, has blasted the senior national team's technical gurus for selecting Mohammed Kudus over Jordan Ayew.

Following Thomas Partey's absence due to a medical condition, the West Ham United forward was selected as the team's captain for the doubleheader match against Sudan in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

The former Hearts of Oak striker lamented the team's handlers' propensity to court what he views as needless controversy while speaking on Angel FM.

According to Tagoe, who represented the Black Stars at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, Jordan Ayew ought to have been assigned the position since it would have brought some harmony and cohesion to the group.

"Kudus cannot be named captain while Jordan is on the team." That's not what you do. Kudus is a really talented player, but before you give him the captaincy, you should wait and give him time," he remarked.

"You will experience the effects and he will feel better if you perform it at the appropriate moment. All of those aspects contribute to the team's confusion, which is the main issue we need to address. We need to examine the captaincy issue.
