Prosper Narteh Ogum, head coach of Asante Kotoko, has called the team's forthcoming matchup with Basake Holy Stars in the Ghana Premier League a crucial one.

The Porcupine Warriors are due to face the newly promoted side on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at the Crosby Awuah Memorial (CAM) Park.

Ogum underlined the significance of the match, pointing out that Asante Kotoko has a lengthy history of failing to score victories over Karela United at CAM Park.

"The Ghana Premier League has a history of good football at this location, therefore it's a huge game. They were a pain in Kumasi Asante Kotoko's side when Karela was there.

This time, it's Nzemaland's Basake Holy Stars, another excellent team. After seeing a couple of their games, I think they are a formidable team.

"This is a really fascinating game to watch since they are motivated and dedicated to playing."

With 14 points, Asante Kotoko is presently in second place in the league, one game behind leaders BibianGoldStars.

Under Prosper Ogum's direction, the squad has four victories and two draws this season, keeping them undefeated.
