FIFA has introduced a new Club World Cup Trophy that will be awarded for the first time during the 2025 tournament in the United States. Scheduled from June 15 to July 13, the tournament will take place across 12 venues in 11 cities, with the final held at the MetLife Stadium in New York, New Jersey. Designed by FIFA in partnership with Tiffany & Co, the trophy is crafted to symbolize the global spirit of football. Its design merges tradition and innovation, featuring 24-carat gold-plated details, a world map, and engravings in 13 languages, including Braille. This intricate design aims to honor the sport’s rich history while celebrating its inclusive future.
The trophy incorporates various elements that nod to football's legacy, such as stadium symbols, historical icons, and celestial markers. It even includes planetary positions, marking key dates like FIFA's founding in 1904 and the 2025 tournament's opening. With space for future champions’ engravings, it can be transformed from a shield into a dynamic and multifaceted object, blending modern aesthetics with symbolic elements. This unique adaptability is meant to underscore the evolving nature of football and its global reach, encapsulating both the legacy of past champions and the anticipation of new ones.
In addition to the main trophy, each tournament winner will receive a replica bearing their club's emblem and the year of victory, ensuring that their achievement is commemorated. The official unveiling of the physical trophy is set for December 5, 2024, during the draw in Miami. FIFA President Gianni Infantino emphasized that this new 32-team competition marks the beginning of a new era, where the winning team will “hold the world of club football in their hands.” Fans can access more details and register for tickets on FIFA’s website, as the excitement builds for a historic tournament that promises to blend the past, present, and future of club football on a global stage.
