Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has expressed confidence that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is poised for victory in the 2024 general elections, following the successful conclusion of his extensive tour across the Ashanti Region. Over the past few weeks, Dr. Bawumia engaged with various communities, meeting with party supporters, grassroots leaders, and local stakeholders. The tour, which covered a wide range of constituencies, was aimed at solidifying support for the party and demonstrating its commitment to the development of the Ashanti Region.
Speaking to an enthusiastic crowd at the final rally of his tour, Dr. Bawumia stated, “We are winning the 2024 election, and this tour has proven it. The energy and support we have received in Ashanti and across the country is unprecedented.” He emphasized that the NPP's development agenda and pro-business policies had transformed Ghana's economy and would continue to do so in the years ahead.
Dr. Bawumia’s tour focused on highlighting the government's accomplishments in the region, particularly in areas such as infrastructure, education, and healthcare. He pointed to the construction of roads, the expansion of educational facilities, and the improvement in healthcare services as key examples of the government's commitment to the development of Ashanti. The Vice President also reaffirmed the NPP's commitment to job creation and economic growth, which he said were central to the party's agenda for the next term.
The Ashanti Region, a stronghold for the NPP, has historically been a vital battleground in Ghana's elections. The Vice President’s tour was seen as a strategy to not only rally the base but also address emerging concerns among voters. As he wrapped up the tour, Bawumia’s declaration of confidence in an NPP win was met with cheers from supporters, signaling a strong optimism within the party as they head toward the 2024 elections.
