The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has issued a firm statement, asserting that Ghanaians are resolutely against violence and that the upcoming elections will be free and fair. The party has also emphasized that no one, regardless of their political affiliation, can manipulate or rig the electoral process in the country.

The statement, delivered by senior party officials at a press briefing, comes amidst growing concern over election-related violence and the integrity of the voting process. The NPP called on all Ghanaians to maintain peace and attest to their commitment to democratic principles, urging citizens to cast their ballots calmly and responsibly.

"We have seen the resilience of Ghanaians during past elections. Our people are not inclined towards violence, and we believe that this election too shall again testify to our maturing democracy," the NPP spokesperson said. "We also want to assure Ghanaians that no one, irrespective of political affiliation, will be able to rig this election. The systems in place are robust and transparent."

The statement from the NPP comes amid growing political tensions and speculation on possible electoral malpractices, with some opposition parties hinting at it. The party indicated that indeed, Ghana has made remarkable strides in strengthening its electoral system, supplemented by an independent Electoral Commission that guides the election process.

To further guarantee the atmosphere of peace, the NPP called for a collaborative effort in ensuring that political parties pledged not to be violent in the build-up to, during, and after the election. The party reassured all stakeholders that it was committed to upholding the final results and implored all to trust the process, thereby steering clear of provocative statements to avoid undermining the credibility of the electoral result.

As election day draws near, Ghana's political climate is under close scrutiny both from locals and international observers. The NPP is hoping to assure the public and also to strengthen the country's reputation as a sure democracy in West Africa.
